At Foothill Family Dental, we are proud to offer high-quality removable dentures for patients who have lost some or all of their teeth. Our dentures are custom-crafted to provide both cosmetic and functional tooth replacement, ensuring a natural-looking smile and restored oral function.
The Denture Creation Process
To create your custom dentures, we begin by taking a series of impressions and measurements of your jaw, teeth, and gums. These measurements are used to craft a model that is tested and adjusted until the fit, color, and shape are perfect for your needs. Once the model is finalized, it is sent to a dental lab to create your permanent dentures. When they are ready, we fit them to your mouth and make any necessary adjustments to ensure maximum comfort and function.
Types of Dentures We Offer
At Foothill Family Dental, we provide two main types of dentures: Conventional Full Dentures and Partial Dentures. Each option is designed to meet different tooth replacement needs.
- Conventional Full Dentures
Full dentures are ideal if you need to replace all your upper or lower teeth. After any necessary extractions, we allow your gums to heal before taking impressions and measurements to create your custom dentures. Once your dentures are crafted, they are fitted to your mouth with minor adjustments to ensure a secure, comfortable fit. - Partial Dentures (Dental Bridges)
Partial dentures, also known as dental bridges, are designed to replace one or more missing teeth. In addition to improving the appearance of your smile, partial dentures prevent neighboring teeth from shifting into the empty space. A dental bridge uses crowns placed on the teeth surrounding the gap to anchor the replacement tooth. We match the bridge to your natural teeth to ensure a seamless look.
Caring for Your Dentures
To keep your dentures in top condition, regular follow-up appointments are important. Over time, adjustments may be needed to maintain the best fit. Dentures should be cleaned daily with a soft-bristle toothbrush and a non-abrasive cleanser to prevent plaque buildup. Generally, dentures should be replaced every 5-10 years. During your check-ups, our dentist in Foothill Ranch can evaluate whether your dentures need to be refit or replaced.
